I think the Ask Nature forum/ Biomimicry Institute might be able to use Twitter as a useful social networking tool. For anyone that doesn't already know, Twitter is growing networking site where you follow / are followed by people to receive their "tweets" (which are updates less than 140 characters). I personally would be very interested in following people's projects in biomimicry, and Twitter is a great informal environment for staying up to date with people and events that you're interested in. Plus, I think the Biomimicry Institute could hook a lot of the younger generation who are still deciding on their future education using this tool.

I checked it out, and "asknature" is available as a username. It looks like somebody's name-sitting "biomimicry" and "biomimetics" for now, but I think we could complain and potentially get those accounts as well (or something similar).

What do you guys think?

Isloboda, I think it's a great idea. I just started an E4S biomimicry account, we are in Northeast Ohio. http://twitter.com/e4sbiomimicry
We are part of a Northeast Ohio Biomimicry Network. Here's our group page on Ask Nature - http://www.asknature.org/group/neo

Hello everyone !

I joined AskNature quite recently. For the presentation part : I live in France (southern sunny part of it :o) and I am an engineer in aeronautics, not a scientist. But this is the great thing about biomimicry : engineers need scientist who need engineers etc.

Back to Twitter now : maybe it would be a good idea - for those who wants- that twitterers among AskNature's post there ident in this post.

For myself : @Daedalum_tweets

What do you think ?

Hi all,

I'm an asknature follower, too ... that's really a good idea!

Another suggestion ... I try to gather interesting links concerning biomimetics & biomimicry via delicious.com.

Here's the corresponding link: http://delicious.com/kreawerft/biomimetics

I appreciate the features of delicious quite a lot - could be another interesting extension!

Hi all !

I found Asknature some weeks ago (via the ZERI site of Gunter Pauli, I believe) and it's a pleasure to know there is this sort of database :)
Like Daedalum I live in France (haha and not far) but I'm a student in Industrial Design.
Concerning twitter, mine is here : http://twitter.com/watsdesign (not dedicated to biomimicry but this topic really interest me)
I'll browse your links (yum the biomimetic delicious) and other topics in the forum :)
