My relevant interest is in collaborative computation and information exchange in nature - such as among social insects, but also more recent areas of investigation such as mycorrhizal networks in forests, and quorum sensing in bacteria. These are areas I'm observing as a layperson, not as an active researcher, but it's my belief they can provide interesting ideas to software engineers.
