I have an Environmental Studies degree from St. Olaf College, in Northfield, MN. For the past 6 summers I have worked in Bristol Bay, Alaska, managing a fleet of commercial salmon fishing vessels. I recently graduated from the Ecosa Institute in Sustainable Design. I lived in Twisp, WA, for two years where I worked for an Organic Grain Farm (www.bluebirdgrainfarms.com). I am very interested in finding new ways of using the Earth's natural processes to help solve some of the immense environmental challenges we face today.
Today I am the Farm Forager for the City of Chicago Farmers Market Program, and the Independently run Green City Market in Lincoln Park, IL. My goal is to recruit farmers from the midwest to join the Chicago Farmers Markets, as well as to connect farmers with chefs and food organizations, and facilitate those relationships.
