I am in my twelth year as a high school science teacher and still loving it! I am also a wilderness guide and naturalist and love to explore and share nature by foot, bike, kayak, canoe, or raft.
Since receiving BS from the University of Michigan in Anthro-Zoology and Bio-Psychology I first pursued the study of animal behavior which has taken me from veterinarian’s offices to zoos and to the wilderness. I have worked on research concerning polar bears, hawks, and ecosystem interactions from the mountains of CA to East Africa and Central America. But in the end teaching others about the interconnections in the natural world was my passion. So when I pursued a Masters in Education and Technology I chose a thesis on biomimicry in education. I love to share my knowledge at teacher conferences, Earth day events and with students of all ages.
