A native of Madeira island, I am currently an associate professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, the largest school of Engineering in Portugal´s capital, Lisbon. I regularly teach a range of subjects (transport phenomena, separation processes, innovation in bioengineering) to Biological Engineering, Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering students. I have been fascinated with the whole Biomimmicry philosophy and have recently created an elective course on Biomimmicry. My students have embarked in the topic with enthusiasm and are actively learning and participating. I also intend to explore biomimmicry concepts in the context of my research topics (Bioseparations and Bionanotechnology) at IBB-Institute for Biotechnology and Bioengineering.

I saw that you created a strategy on AskNature and applied to be a curator. I try not to look at them for a few days after they are posted, because once I look at them, you won't have access again to make any changes (until I approve you as a curator). If you have more work to do on it, you can access it through your profile page, I think under the Content tab. I might not get to it until late next week, as I'll be at the biomimicry education summit the rest of this week and won't be back at work until the 14th. However, if you're done with editing it, let me know and I can get to it later today or tomorrow afternoon.
