David Benjamin (arkitekt)

I am an architect with my own design firm, originally educated at Washington University in St. Louis, and with a PhD in Architecture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, in Trondheim. My PhD studied the critical role that Architecture played for Iron and Bronze Age Europeans in the relationship between their culture and the ecology of their surroundings. Since then, I have been interested in how and why design can and should play a role in designing the sustainable built environment today and tomorrow. I am also a partner in an ecological design firm, John Todd Ecological Design, and here we design and build projects that utilize ecological principles and diverse species to solve prevalent and challenging issues of how modern societies deal with today's environment, especially with relation to water, waste, food and the integration of thinking about the sustainable flow of natural resources and energy through the world system.
