      I am a comparative animal physiologist, retired university biology professor and former NSF program director (in Integrative Organismal Systems).  I am very excited about the promise of biomimicry in helping us find more sustainable approaches to life on earth and am thrilled to see the burgeoning engagement of young people in facing our challenges through new approaches. I now enjoy writing briefs for the biomimicry portal and trying to help find financial support for all of The Biomimicry Institute's projects.
