I am a graduate architecture student currently working on my thesis at the University of Cincinnati. I am looking at how biomimicry can be used in the architectural design process. My thesis is using that process to create a truly sustainable architecture here in Cincinnati, OH. I am currently looking at biomimicking several aspects in nature. I am researching the modification of exhaled air of mammals, specifically the dehumidification. I am also looking at termite mounds, and prairie dog and ant colonies, to better understand how they thermoregulate in extreme temperatures. Other natural phenomenon I am looking at include the insulative value of paper wasp and yellow jacket nests, along with stomata in plants.
I am always looking for collaborative help to take this project as far as it can go. So please feel free to contact me if any of this is of interest.

SO very glad you found the site--let the collaborating (with nature and with each other) begin! So fun to watch what's going on around the world in biomimicry. I am tickled pink.

I just returned from the biomimicry "Swarm" alumni event and would be glad to share the latest, greatest that is going on in the world of biomimicry. It is fabulous to see someone else in Cincinnati on Ask Nature!
