Nicole Isle
Senior Sustainability Advisor, Brightworks
LEED AP BD+C
Nicole specializes in integrated design strategies for single and multiple building projects as well as for master planning and infrastructure-scale programs. With a strong background in aquatic ecology, a Masters of Urban Planning, and professional training in sustainability tools and metrics, Nicole brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to every project. Her approach to help realize a more comprehensive level of sustainability on her projects is to engage teams early and effectively in the design and development process, leveraging opportunities for creativity, innovation and collaboration.
Nicole has worked on a variety of development projects ranging from mixed-use, multi-family residential, hospitality, and retirement communities to higher education, public works, and office buildings. She has successfully certified numerous Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) buildings and is trained as a Biologist at the Design Table (BaDt) through the Biomimicry Institute. Nicole has worked on projects throughout the U.S. and internationally including the recently-completed conceptual master plan for a 7,000-acre, near-zero carbon community in South Korea.
Nicole is a member of the American Institute of Architects Sustainable Design Assessment Team (AIA SDAT). She regularly facilitates eco-charrettes and continues to teach workshops and engage in professional speaking events nationwide.
