I first became interested in sustainability as a carpenter working along the coast of Maine, where off the grid homes, water supply and solar power were requirements in remote areas.  Later I worked with a group in Colorado who were active in changing building codes to require environmental issues to be considered as part of getting a permit.

Currently I am a LEED AP on one of the largest green building projects ever undertaken, but I miss the work of simple small projects using hand tools and demonstrating the "embodied human energy" that truly offers potential for sustainable living.

While I currently live in Nevada ( yes, Las Vegas, where the sun shines all the time) my true home is in Mid Coast maine where the familt maintains a small farm.
