My interest in biomimicry comes from my deep love and connection to nature that has always been a part of my life whether expressed simply through watching the specatular sunrise rising from the mountains this morning or using Santa to provide tools for further exploration in the form of a microscope, rock tumbler, tree identification book, etc. when younger. The underlying intelligence of the natural world has always been very clear to me, but I never knew there was a name much less a field of study related to exploring this nature knowledge and wisdom.
As a former homeschooling parent, one of my favorite books was "Nature Got Here First" a book that explores biomimicry using specific examples such as velcro, etc. I was hooked! We explored all aspects of education through the lens of nature including mathematics. I found biomimicry very intriguing because of the creativity and connectedness inherent within the field.
As a brief bio, I graduated from Michigan State with a degree in the field of communications working for both large and small companies throughout the US in the areas of advertising, marketing and public relations. I eventually created my own business to assist local small businesses. I became the education director of a children's museum through my avid exploration of learning and education while homeschooling. Currently, because of my interest in transpersonal psychology and consciousness exploration, I am a transpersonal hypnotherapist who assists others in adventuring and exploring the inner worlds through Insight sessions and classes.
