About

After 35 years in environmental and sustainability management I now run the nation’s largest industry-managed Habitat Conservation Plan for PG&E. I also teach at UC Berkeley Extension in the Global Change Mgmt and Sustainability & Environmental Mgmt programs. Before PG&E I served as a director at Global Footprint Network and was involved with several sustainability start-ups. My main career (18 yrs) was at Electric Power Research Institute culminating in a Chauncey Award for work in ecological asset mgmt. Before EPRI I was manager of Environmental Affairs at Entergy Corp. (Little Rock) and worked at Edison Electric Institute in Washington D.C. Bill Clinton appointed me to the AR Policy Advisory Committee for Environment and I was Trustee for the AR Museum of Science & History. I was conservation chair for the Ozark Society, reformed the AR Conservation Coalition, helped deliver all AR votes supporting the Alaska Lands Act and co-authored the AR Wilderness Act of 1984. This led to 3 awards from National Wildlife Federation. My bachelor’s degree is in environmental studies from U/New Mexico. Post-grad studies include environmental psychology, conservation biology and ecological economics.
